Sleep Depth

Sleep Depth is a low, centred hum for bedtime. Two deep notes a whole tone apart hold the bottom, a thin scatter of quieter tones sits above them, and nothing in the loop ever starts or stops. It stays in one place rather than spreading around your head, which matters more than it sounds when you turn over in bed.

What the loop actually contains

Weight at the bottom, a thin decoration over it, and nothing else. The upper tones sit far enough down that you register them as colour rather than as notes. Movement across the 32-second loop is modest, and no attack registers anywhere in the file.

The narrow stereo image is the part people notice without knowing why. A centred pad stays put when you move; a wide one seems to swing around you. Some sleepers care about that and some never notice.

How it differs from Deep Slumber

These two are close relatives and share their lowest notes almost exactly. What separates them is weight and spread. Deep Slumber carries noticeably more bass and is about twice as wide, so it surrounds you; this one is leaner and stays in front of you. Neither is a variant of the other, and the choice mostly comes down to how much bottom end your speakers can actually deliver.

For something built the same way but darker still, Cosmic Drift puts almost nothing in the upper range. The Sleep Depth and rain blend in the free sound mixer gives the pad something to sit under, and the full catalogue is on the sound library index.

Frequently asked questions

How is Sleep Depth different from Deep Slumber?

They share their two lowest notes but differ in weight and spread. Deep Slumber has more bass and is roughly twice as wide; this one is leaner and stays centred.

Will it work on a phone speaker?

Partly. Much of its character sits below what a small speaker can reproduce, so it will sound emptier than it is.

Does it have any events or beats?

No. Nothing in the 32-second loop starts or stops, so there is nothing in it to wake you.

Is there a sleep timer?

Yes. Set the browser player to stop after 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or leave the timer off for continuous playback.
